powerpoint 2013 4:3 format

Post by jamesfagan » Tue Apr 15, 2014 11:55 am

power worship uses the 16:9 format when creating slides in powerpoint 2013, even though I've set a default slide to 4:3 format. Anyone have any ideas to overcome this? My projector doesn't support the widescreen format. If i re-size after pw creates the slides i lose all my formatting.

Here's some possible solutions (suggested by Microsoft) for changing the default aspect ratio (slide size) in PPT 2013, where the default is now 16:9 (as you mention) but I have not tried these yet.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/offi ... 6f09723028

See "setting the default aspect ratio" on the following page:
http://blogs.office.com/2013/01/24/powe ... entations/

http://www.powerpoint-2013-tutorials.co ... ect-ratio/

Please advise if you try this out and this addresses the issue, and I'll do the same when I try this.

These all seem to suggest using the same default Theme based approach, which I'm not sure whether this is a very good solution.

Well, I've tried creating a default 4:3 template. That works when creating slideshows in powerpoint, but, when creating slides from powerworship 3.2 it doesn't use the 4:3 format. That's what I am trying to figure out - why, it seems, does PW override that default?

Alas, I couldn't get it to work either from pW, so I added a new/explicit Slide Size setting to PowerWorship 4.0.3 (the latest release) and it should be working now.

The default Slide Size setting in PowerWorship (see the General > Page Setup section of the program settings) is Standard (4:3) but it can be optionally changed to Widescreen (16:9).

To get the changes, uninstall PowerWorship (via Add/Remove programs in the Windows control panel) and then download 4.0 again (to get the latest release) and reinstall.

Your database will not be uninstalled when you uninstall PowerWorship 4.0, and the database will not be modified/overwritten when you reinstall, but you can optionally backup your database before uninstalling/reinstalling to be safe.

To backup your data, exit PowerWorship and make a copy of the pwrwsp.sdf file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\PowerWorship\pW4\Data on Windows XP or C:\ProgramData\PowerWorship\pW4\Data on Windows Vista and later.

Pls confirm when possible (when you get a chance to try this) if this fully addresses the issue.
